Jarrett Photos StoryIf you did not already know, I am the proud father of three wonderful children. Each of them are very unique in every way, and the summer trips are amazing!

Sike!!

Summer trips are an absolute nightmare. They are filled with bathroom stops, me driving in the car while everyone is fast asleep, only to wake up to say “are we there yet” and fall right back to sleep. I am not complaining at all, just sort of venting about my life as the proud father of three amazing children, and how you should totally join us on our road trips.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Firestone Complete Auto Care on their Summer Road Trip Campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to share some clever ideas to keep everyone in the car entertained during those long rides. And out of this “What’s The Word” was born.

Education and fun are great tools when practiced together, and that is what this game is all about. The way you play this game is very simple, and it can also be played at home. You can make it using things that you may already have in your house and if you do not, the materials are pretty easy to find.
So here are the rules (they are pretty simple)

Close your eyes and pull one letter from the container

Find something around you that starts with that letter Those are probably the easiest rules ever, and believe me I know rules.

Now how is this thing made?

Jarrett Hendrix In Copy Photos I chose to go the simple route on this one, but I did not have everything that I needed so I had to go to the craft store to get some of the materials.

1. The Letters

I purchased these from Michaels, and they were a pretty good price. I was really looking for something that had multiples of the same letter, just in case one or two got lost.

2.The Jar

This was a bit of a tricky one. I originally thought about using a mason jar for this, but glass is not always the best idea. It is also rather difficult to find a small plastic container Jarrett Hendrix In Copy Photos 3with a lid, so I had to purchase a container that had these water beads in them and had to quickly get rid of the beads (they were all over the house).

3. The Label and Putting It All Together

I created the label using Procreate on my iPad. The idea was to go with something authentic, so handwriting the label was the best solution. Once that was complete I printed it out, taped the label to the container, and put in the letters.

Here’s a game that you can play with your family, friends, and anyone else who may need a little something to do while taking those long summer road trips. I also want to remind you to visit the Firestone Complete Auto Care website and check out their coupon page to prepare for your summer road trip. Firestone Complete Auto Care backs up all of their work with a Triple Promise that guarantees your experience will be Fixed Right, Priced Right, and Right on Time. Firestone also has 4,000+ hardworking and trustworthy ASE-certified technicians that keep your car running newer, and longer since 1926.

Do you have any cool things that you do for those long trips?

Let me know.
